Amor Vittone started her career early. At sixteen, she presented Body Beat on TV. Soon after, she joined SuperSport as a presenter. She finished high school at Hoërskool Die Fakkel in Johannesburg, where she was head girl. Amor then studied Communication and Advertising at Rand University and completed her Honours degree Cum Laude.

Her background in tap and modern dance helped open doors. She was a South African dance champion and held the title of Miss Johannesburg. These achievements led to stage roles in West Side Story at the State Theatre and Girl Talk by Richard Loring. She also appeared in Strictly Tap Dance Fever at the Joburg Theatre and Streets of Gold at the Lyric Theatre.
In 2012, Amor produced and starred in her own show, Amorisque, at Emperor’s Palace in Kempton Park. It ran for four months.
Her first album, Wild Cherry Kisses, came out in 1998 through EMI. It featured English, Afrikaans, and Italian songs, including Ti amo, which honored her half-Italian roots. She later released Dance in Colours (2000), Young Forever (2002), and Amor (2004).
Her first Afrikaans album, Voluit, was released in 2006 and went gold in six months. It was nominated for a SAMA in the Best Afrikaans Pop category, making her the only female nominee that year. The music video for Voluit lewe won Best Music Video at the 2007 Afrikaans Music Awards.
That same year, Amor earned several nominations, People Magazine’s Crystal Award, a Huisgenoot Tempo Award, and a Vonk Award. Her song Voluit lewe was named one of the most popular Afrikaans songs of 2007.
She released Glo altyd aan more in 2009, followed by Greatest Hits albums in 2011 and 2015.
In 2015, she released Die tyd is nou through David Gresham Records. The single Sprei my vlerke hit No. 1 on Jacaranda FM’s Afrikaans Top 20, while Te laat vir totsiens reached No. 2.
In 2018, she dropped Ek bly net ’n ma under her own label. Songs like As die wêreld stil gaan staan, Il voglio cantare, and Ek mis jou all hit No. 1 on Bosveld Stereo. In 2019, she was nominated for a Ghoema Award for Best Female Artist.
Her music success led her to TV. She presented Road 2 Riches, the Lotto show, and soon became a familiar face in South African homes. She appeared in Legkaart Bonanza, Top Billing, Mainly for Men, and In die kryt met Joost en Amor. She also hosted a show on Jacaranda FM and featured in major magazines like Huisgenoot, You, Sarie, Fair Lady, and Rooi Rose.
Amor is more than a singer. She’s a choreographer, MC, and motivational speaker. Her charm and positive spirit make her a favorite at events, especially Women’s Day programs. She’s also a skilled voice artist for radio and TV ads.
She presented Skoonma-se-tong and Skoonpa-se-tong on Via TV, and she’s a judge on Dans in jou taal on KykNET. Amor also plays Zelda in 7de Laan on SABC2 and judges Acting with the Stars.
In April 2023, she received the Afri-Indie Award for Best Choreographer and was honored for 25 years in music.
